This policy explains every cookie and every piece of browser storage Hitaishi uses, what each one is for, and how long it lasts. It is a complete list, not a summary.
You can change your choices at any time: reopen cookie preferences.
1. Strictly Necessary
These make the site work. Without them you cannot sign in and we cannot keep abuse out, so they are always on and are not covered by the consent banner. They set no advertising identifier and are never shared.

2. Preferences
One item, and it never leaves your browser.

Turn this category off and we delete the stored choice, and the site follows your operating system’s light or dark setting instead.
3. Analytics
Off unless you turn it on. These let us tell a returning visitor from a new one, so we can count people rather than page loads.

If you refuse or later withdraw consent, these are deleted immediately rather than left to expire, and they are not set again.
4. What the toggles do not cover
We want to be straight about this rather than let the banner imply more than it delivers. Our server keeps an ordinary request log: the path, the response code, how long it took, and the account name if you are signed in. It is written by us, stored by us, shared with nobody, and carries no cookie and no cross-visit identifier. It is how we find errors and know the service is up, and it is kept whatever you choose above. What the analytics toggle controls is whether we may additionally recognise your browser between visits.
5. Third parties
Only two, both structural, neither advertising:
- Cloudflare sits in front of the site, terminating connections and filtering abusive traffic. It sees the requests it routes.
- Clerk handles sign-in with Google, Apple and LinkedIn, and only if you use one of those buttons.
We serve our own fonts, images, styles and scripts from hitaishi.coach. There is no advertising network, no tag manager, no social media pixel, and no third-party analytics product on this site.
6. Your control
- The banner appears on your first visit and can be reopened any time from the link at the top of this page.
- Your choice is remembered in your browser. If you have an account it is also saved to it, so the same choice applies when you sign in elsewhere.
- Your browser can block or delete cookies for this site entirely. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you being able to sign in.
7. Changes
If we add a category or change what an existing one means, the banner asks again rather than carrying your old answer over to a different question.
