Vedic astrology begins with astronomy. Where the planets sat at the moment you were born is calculated, not guessed. The rules for reading those positions were written down and argued over for centuries before anyone put them in an app.
Your chart is calculated once and never changes. From it, Hitaishi reads three things. Your wiring is what you are built for. Your tendency is the bias you repeat at work. Your season is the chapter of life you are in today, and when it changes.
Your question is then read against the houses that rule that kind of question, and against the chapter you are in on the day you ask. Each answer says which part of the chart it read and what that means for you, in plain words. The reasoning arrives with the answer, so you can push back on it.

What does Hitaishi show me?
Three things from your birth chart. Your wiring: your strengths, and the kind of work you are built for. Your tendency: the bias you repeat at work, such as undercharging or avoiding the hard talk. Your season: the chapter and the stretch of life you are in today, and when they change. It also reads the chart for your year, which is cast for each birthday.
Which astrology does it use?
Vedic astrology (Jyotish), the sidereal system from India. It uses your birth chart, the divisional charts for career and money, the planetary chapters (dashas), and the chart for your current year.
Do I need to know any astrology?
No. Every answer says which part of your chart it read and what that means, in plain words. If you know Vedic astrology well, you can ask for the full technical reasoning behind any answer. Short guides are in Learn.
Is the timing based on today?
Yes. Each answer is read against the chapter and the stretch you are in on the day you ask, in your own time zone. When a question names a date, it reads that date.
What does an answer look like?
The first answer in a conversation gives the call first. Then your wiring, your tendency, and your season, each in plain words. Then the move to make, and how sure the answer is. After that, follow-ups are conversational. See an example reading.
Does my chart decide what happens?
No. Your chart shows a tendency, not a fate. It shows what you lean toward and what this season rewards. You still make the call.
What do you actually build from my details?
Everything begins with a small set of basic facts: the date, time, and place you were born. Those three details pin down exactly what the sky looked like at your first moment, including where the Sun, the Moon, and each planet stood. That snapshot never changes, which is what makes it useful. It is a fixed reference point for you, computed precisely, not estimated.
On top of that snapshot you add the lived layer: your answers to our calibration questions, your professional history if you import it, and the decisions you talk through with Hitaishi over time. The chart gives us the wiring. Your answers tell us how that wiring has actually played out in your life. Each of these is a dot. A dot on its own tells you very little. The value comes from connecting them.
How do you connect the dots?
A chart by itself is just geometry, a set of unconnected dots. The lines between them come from a very large body of interpretation that we have indexed and cross referenced: classical Vedic texts, recorded conversations between practitioners, long video lectures, public discussions, and generations of written interpretation. It is the accumulated record of people reading charts against real lives over a very long time.
No single source is treated as gospel. A connection makes it into your reading only when independent sources agree on it, and when it fits what your own history says about you. Where sources disagree, we weigh the disagreement instead of hiding it. The approach is closer to a literature review than to a horoscope column.
What layers of my chart do you read?
A full reading is never one chart. For every question Hitaishi looks at several layers at once:
- Divisional charts. Your birth chart can be recast into more specialized charts. Each one is a closer look at a single area of life: one for career, one for partnership, one for assets, and so on. Hitaishi reads the ones your question needs. The main chart says what. The divisional charts say where in your life.
- Houses and planets. Your chart has twelve houses, each an area of life, such as the money you earn or the work you are known for. Each planet is a drive, such as discipline, growth, or craft. A planet in a house is the basic sentence of a chart: which drive, in which part of life.
- Strength. Two people can have the same planet in the same place, and it delivers very differently. Hitaishi works out whether each planet is well placed and able to deliver, or weak and likely to fall short. Weak placements tell you as much as strong ones.
- Chapters and stretches. Your life runs in long planetary chapters (dashas), with shorter stretches inside each one. Each has its own flavor. This is the timing layer, and it is why the same question can get a different answer in 2026 than in 2029.
