Vedic astrology begins with astronomy. Where the planets sat at the moment you were born is computed, not felt. The rules for reading those positions were written down and argued over for centuries before anyone put them in an app.
Everything begins with a small set of basic facts: the date, time, and place you were born. Those three details pin down exactly what the sky looked like at your first moment, including where the Sun, the Moon, and each planet stood, down to fractions of a degree. That snapshot never changes, which is what makes it useful. It is a fixed reference point for you, computed precisely, not estimated.
Your chart is calculated to the arc second and never changes again. The stretch of life you are standing in is worked out from it.
A full reading is never one chart. For every question the coach looks at several layers at once:
- Divisional charts (vargas). Your birth snapshot can be recast into more specialized charts. Each one is a magnifying glass over a single area of life: one for career, one for marriage and partnership, one for assets, and so on. The main chart says what; the divisional charts say where in your life.
- Positions. Each planet sits in a house and a sign. The house is a life area, like career, home, relationships, or health. The sign is a style of expression. The combination is the basic sentence of a chart: which part of life, expressed how.
- Strengths. Two people can have the same planet in the same place and it delivers very differently. Every placement gets a computed strength score that tells us whether a planet is well placed and able to deliver its results, or compromised and likely to underdeliver. Weak placements are as informative as strong ones.
- Planetary motions. The sky keeps moving after you are born. Long planetary cycles divide your life into distinct periods, each with its own flavor, and the current positions of the planets are read against your birth chart. This is the timing layer, and it is why the same question can get a different answer in 2026 than in 2029.

A chart by itself is just geometry, a set of unconnected dots. The lines between them come from a very large body of interpretation that we have indexed and cross referenced: classical Vedic texts, recorded conversations between practitioners, long video lectures, public discussions, and generations of written interpretation. It is the accumulated record of people reading charts against real lives over a very long time.
No single source is treated as gospel. A connection makes it into your reading only when independent traditions and independent readers converge on the same signal, and when it fits what your own history says about you. Where sources disagree, we weigh the disagreement instead of hiding it. That is why the readings hold up. The approach is closer to a literature review than to a horoscope column.
On top of the snapshot you add the lived layer: your answers to our calibration questions, your professional history if you import it, and the decisions you talk through with the coach over time. The chart gives us the wiring. Your answers tell us how that wiring has actually played out in your life. Each of these is a dot. A dot on its own tells you very little. The value comes from connecting them, and that is where the real work starts.
